FRESH FROM FOOD FACTORY TO FARM
SugaRich was founded in 1956 and is now the UK's leading supplier of surplus food solutions. Employing in excess of 150 people it is unique in that it has a drying facility at its Brackley site which is one of the largest of its kind in the UK and the only one used for food produce. The Company operates from a total of nine processing and four storage sites spread across England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
SugaRich has extensive experience in capturing surplus food products from manufacturers and retailers. It handles over 500,000 tonnes of nutrient rich food products from factories across the UK resulting in over 400,000 tonnes of high quality finished product finding its way into UK farm feeds.
The raw materials for this process include: cake, chocolate, sweets, breakfast cereal, crisps, biscuits and moist products such as bread, dough, apple pumice, potato starch, processed vegetables and other similar products. The products may be out of date, surplus to requirements, from failed marketing campaigns, or out of specification for example being the wrong shape or colour.
